ALL-STAR STAFF
All of the instructors at Everything Football and More are highly experienced and skilled individuals who enjoy working with kids to help them realize their full potential. High school and youth coaches, former college and high school stand out players, as well as former professional players all contribute to the program.
Ed Garrett, a Vienna youth coach for football, basketball and baseball for the past several years has been involved with football for more than 30 years. Ed was a stand out player at Pius XI high school in Milwaukee, and was named to the Parade All-American High School Team as a senior as well as being selected as Wisconsin Athlete of the Year. After being recruited by countless major universities, Ed elected to play for Bo Schembechler at the University of Michigan where he was the starting running back and played in the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and the Holiday Bowl. Ed completed his football career in training camp with the New York Jets when he was sidelined with an injury. Ed particularly enjoys coaching young kids who are new to the game, including his own son who began playing in 2006.
Michael Wright, Head Football Coach at Flint Hill School in Oakton, has more than 20 years experience coaching football. In 2006, Coach Wright was named Redskins High School Coach of the Week for the week of November 5 and Coach of the Year by the Sun Gazette. As a high school football player at the Kent School (Kent, CT), Michael Wright was inducted in the first round into the High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He played four years of college football at St.Lawrence University (Canton, NY), and his 1982 team was elected into the St. Lawrence Hall of Fame. In 1985, he tried out as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins. In addition to football, Coach Wright coaches basketball and track at Flint Hill.
Tony Green, a former running back and wide receiver at Shepherd College, has been coaching high school football in Fairfax County for more than twenty years. He began his coaching career at Paul VI High School where he was head coach for the junior varsity team and assistant coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterback coach for the varsity team. Tony moved to George Mason High School where he served as offensive coordinator, and quarterback and running back coach before becoming head coach. Under Tony’s leadership, the team made it to the regional playoffs. Currently, Tony serves as assistant head coach as well as wide receiver and defensive back coach, offensive line coach, and offensive coordinator at Bishop O’Connell High School. During his tenure at the school, Bishop O’Connell has made it to the play-offs three times and played for the championship on one occasion.
